First floor features 14-meter large span refined steel, pearlescent white fluorocarbon coating.
FABRICATION AND CONSTRUCTION CHALLENGES
Winland pursues minimalistic design. The lobby curtain wall uses large "ultra-white glass", requiring the production of equally pure and refined steel curtain wall mullions to match. The appearance requirements for refined steel are very high. Each 13.6-meter refined steel's international straightness requirement is 1‰, while Winland requires less than 0.5‰. As exposed profiles, refined steel must be exquisite and beautiful, with 90° right angles and a cold white color.
SOLUTION
For the straightness requirement, we use concentrated innovative technologies such as laser cutting, dedicated three-dimensional flexible platform assembly, and fully automatic robot welding to minimize welding-caused deformation. Ultimately, the required straightness of less than 0.5‰ for Winland's standard is achieved.
We use fully automatic machine tool laser cutting technology to ensure accurate cutting quality, so that making the refined steel exterior achieve a crisp 90-degree right angle.
To achieve the cold white color required by Winland, we used a white paint provided by the Dutch company AkzoNobel that does not fade after 30 years of exposure in Florida sun tests. We specially adjusted the cold white color - "Winland White" - to perfectly showcase its unique color texture. The total thickness of the primer, intermediate paint, and topcoat is only 220-260 μm.
